Services

Support for every stage of life and love.

Whether you're coming on your own, as a couple or as a family, I offer a calm, confidential space to work through what's hard. I see preteens, teens and adults, in person in Parkwood or online, wherever you are in South Africa.

Adults

Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions to work through what's weighing on you, at your pace.

  • In person (Parkwood, Johannesburg)
  • Online (secure video)

Individual therapy is time that is just for you. Together we make sense of what has been weighing on you, whether it's something recent or something you've carried for a long time, and look for ways forward that fit your life.

We go at your pace. Some sessions are about talking things through; others are about understanding patterns or practising new skills. I draw on different approaches depending on what's helpful for you, and we decide on the focus together.

It might help if…

  • You've been feeling anxious, low or on edge, and it isn't lifting
  • Something painful has happened and you're struggling to find your footing
  • You keep ending up in the same patterns in relationships or at work
  • You're going through a big change: a loss, a move, a new role or a new stage of life
  • You'd like to understand yourself better, even if nothing feels 'wrong'

Ages 10–18

Teen & Preteen Therapy

A safe space for young people to be heard, with parents involved where helpful.

  • In person (Parkwood, Johannesburg)
  • Online (secure video)

Growing up comes with a lot: school pressure, friendships, social media, changing bodies, family expectations and big feelings that can be hard to put into words. Therapy gives preteens and teens a space of their own to be heard without judgement.

Sessions are shaped around the young person. Some prefer to talk, while others find it easier to start with something more practical. I work at a pace that feels safe, and in the language they are most comfortable in.

Parents and guardians are part of the start

For clients under 18, a parent or guardian is involved at the beginning: to give consent, share background and agree on how we'll keep in touch. After that, sessions are a private space for your child. What they share stays confidential within limits we'll talk through together at the start, and I'll update you in general terms.

It might help if…

  • Your child seems more withdrawn, irritable or anxious than usual
  • There have been changes at home, such as a divorce, a move or a loss in the family
  • School, friendships or bullying are causing distress
  • They are struggling with self-esteem, body image or identity
  • You're worried about eating, self-harm or risk-taking

Partners

Couples Therapy

Improve communication, rebuild trust and navigate change together.

  • In person (Parkwood, Johannesburg)
  • Online (secure video)

Every relationship goes through hard seasons. Couples therapy offers a neutral space where you can both be heard, understand what keeps happening between you, and find clearer, kinder ways of talking to each other.

I don't take sides. My role is to help you slow difficult conversations down, notice the patterns underneath them, and decide together what you want for your relationship, whether that's rebuilding, growing closer or finding a respectful way forward.

When

When you keep having the same argument, when trust has been broken, when you feel more like housemates than partners, or when big changes (a baby, a move, a loss, blending families) are putting strain on things. You don't have to be in crisis to come.

Who

All couples are welcome: married or not, dating, engaged, living together or apart. I work with partners of every sexual orientation and gender identity, and with all relationship types. This is an LGBTQ+ affirming space.

Where

In person at my consulting room in Parkwood, or online by secure video if you live apart or have busy schedules. Couples sessions are 60 minutes.

It might help if…

  • Communication has turned into arguing, or into silence
  • You're working through an affair or another breach of trust
  • You're facing a big decision or transition together
  • Differences in culture, faith or family expectations are causing tension
  • You're preparing for marriage or commitment and want to talk things through first
  • You're thinking about separating and want to do it with care

Families

Family Therapy

Ease conflict and strengthen connection across the whole family system.

  • In person (Parkwood, Johannesburg)
  • Online (secure video)

When one person in a family is struggling, everyone feels it. Family therapy brings family members together to understand what is happening between you, not just within one person, so that you can find better ways to talk, listen and support each other.

Families come in many shapes: nuclear, extended, blended, single-parent, or raised by grandparents, aunts and uncles. I work with the family as you define it, and I pay attention to culture, roles and the different generations in the room.

It might help if…

  • Arguments at home are frequent, or keep circling the same issues
  • Your family is adjusting to a divorce, a new partner or a blended family
  • You're coping with a loss, an illness or another major change together
  • Parents and children, or different generations, are struggling to understand each other
  • A family member is having a hard time and you want to support them well

Anywhere in South Africa

Online Therapy

The same care by secure video, from wherever you feel most comfortable.

  • Online (secure video)

Online therapy offers the same care as in-person sessions, by secure video, from wherever you feel comfortable and private. It can make therapy easier to fit around work, family and travel, wherever you are in South Africa.

Individual, couples and family sessions can all happen online, and you're welcome to mix online and in-person sessions if that suits you. All you need is a private, quiet space, a device with a camera, and a stable internet connection.

It might help if…

  • You live outside Johannesburg, or travel often
  • Your schedule makes getting to Parkwood difficult
  • You feel more at ease talking from your own space
  • Health, mobility or childcare make leaving home harder
  • You'd like to keep our sessions going while you're away
